Beryl's Caribbean/Canadian Journey

We have combined three cultures from three different areas of the North American continent and Caribbean Islands. My mother and father came from the Caribbean Islands and immigrated to Canada. They married and had four children. They brought and maintained their food and adopted the Canadian cuisine and way of life as well. This culinary fusion gave us something unique because we adjusted to the different foods, habits and lifestyle of the country we lived in. Our family was one that liked to cook and eat; therefore, food from the islands was served often. Sunday was the day where something from one of the islands was our "special of the day". Read more
